The Best Summer Ever!

Hey parents, it's that time of year again - the end of the school year! As much as we love the summer months, it can be tough to keep our kids on a routine without the structure of school. But fear not, because routine doesn't have to be boring! Here are some tips for keeping your kids on track while having fun:

Create a Summer Schedule

Get your kids involved in making a summer schedule that includes any pre-scheduled activities (like Team Chip, duh!), time for reading, and a set wake-up and bedtime. Make it colorful and post it somewhere visible so everyone knows what's happening each day.

Make Chores a Game

No one likes chores, but they're a necessary part of any routine. Make them more fun by turning them into a game. Set a timer and see who can pick up the most toys in 5 minutes, or race to see who can make their bed the fastest.

Plan Active Outings

Summer is the perfect time to get outside and be active. Plan outings to the park, a hiking trail, or a pool to get your kids moving and enjoying the outdoors. It is ESPECIALLY good to double down on martial arts training. Take advantage of the summer months and get an edge on curriculum!

Get Creative in the Kitchen

Eating healthy can be fun, especially when you involve your kids in the cooking process. Try new recipes and let your kids choose their favorite fruits and veggies to include in meals.

Set Screen Time Limits

While it's tempting to let our kids have free reign with screens during the summer, it's important to set limits. Use a timer or screen time tracker to make sure they're getting enough physical activity and face-to-face socialization.

By sticking to a routine, your kids will have structure and predictability, which can lead to better behavior and less stress for everyone. And who says routine can't be fun? With a little creativity, your summer routine can be the highlight of the season!
